Remembering the truth that is already thereSOLD OUT
As human beings, we long to discover who we are and to connect meaningfully with one another. Yet as we grow we often feel broken, disconnected and can feel a longing to find something we “lost” along the way. The DOJO offers us an opportunity to re-navigate our life experiences to bring us to a more grounded, balanced and integrated sense of ourselves, and reclaim a profound sense of freedom. Welcome to the DOJO Retreat. We are excited to be landing this container once again in Bali. In this 7 day retreat, we will work to bring ourselves into deeper connection to discover, remember, meet and heal the aspects of our being that prevent our wholeness and vitality. Evolved from years of renowned Avalon work, the DOJO’s highly effective methods bring a permissive container for your full expression and healing. Using surrender, embodiment, presence and connection as foundations for our truest expression, we will explore what holds us back in our lives. We will work with and challenge our patterns of thinking/relating and get to re-encounter our life force to realize a fuller, freer, and less reactive way of being. As a participant you should be ready to work deeply and be open to sense your personal truth. This allows for a fullness of embodied expression, a profound curiosity for the experience of others and a willingness to own your experience. The DOJO is not a spectator sport. The container requires a high level of participation, creating a deep, relational group practice which will have you face yourself in ways that you either haven’t seen, have been avoiding or have been challenged by in your life. The invitation is for a compassionate inquiry of both your unmet darkest shadows and unrealized greatest light. We will be both held in and held account to, our more authentic, vulnerable and empowered selves.

Tom Slater has always had a deep curiosity and hunger for direct life experience. This has lead him through many challenges, openings and opportunities over the last 40 years. He has forged his own intimate relationship with life and found surrender as a means to truth and aliveness. Over the course of 7 years he ran, co-facilitated and evolved the renowned Avalon field and developed the DOJO. It was here that he found what he had been looking for: a container in which to open into greater relational potential and realize his wilder presence.

....is a 7 day retreat experience, running each day from 9:30am until 10pm. The experience is very emergent and responsive to what is happening moment by moment with each group. The first day outlines some psychosomatic models and practices to prepare for the rest of the week, this includes an in-depth look at Spiral dynamics and how it apply to personal development. The basic outline of subsequent days runs as follows. Mornings: emergent space called the Pulse, a very open permissible place for embodied authenticity, expression, truth and connection. Afternoons: various somatic, embodiment practices to deepen and broaden our capacity to be in the Pulse. Evenings: the Debrief, a cognitive, 3rd perspective analysis of the day to get a shared understanding about what happened during each day.
